Solway Sharks maintained their 100% record in NIHL North Moralee D1 with a pair of excellent victories.
Struan Tonnar (2) led the scoring in their 6-2 home win against Telford Tigers NIHL, while Duncan Speirs (above) went one better with a hat-trick as Sharks secured a 5-2 success at Deeside Dragons.
Billingham Stars kept up the pressure at the top of the table with a 5-1 home win against Telford – Chris Sykes weighed in with four goals.
Callum Watson scored twice as Whitley Warriors made it five wins from their last six league games with a 4-2 home victory over Sutton Sting.
Blackburn Hawks’ recent woes continued with a 4-3 Northern Cup defeat at Billingham – Andy Finn scored the shoot-out winner for the home side.
In D2N, Sheffield Senators strengthened their grip on second place with an 8-3 home win against Nottingham Lions – Tom Humphries (2) and Nathan Britton (2) were amongst the scorers.
The Lions bounced back from that defeat with a 3-1 home victory over Coventry Blaze NIHL.
Josh Blissett (5), Kieran Beach (3) and Richard Haggar (3) got the goals as Hull Jets won 11-7 at Bradford Bulldogs, while Jake Nurse grabbed the equaliser in Altrincham Aces’ 3-3 draw with Widnes Wild.
