Billingham Stars moved level on points with Solway Sharks at the top of NIHL North Moralee D1 after an impressive weekend on the road.
Daniel Palmebjork (2), Dennis Bostrom (2) and Jack Watkins (2) topped the scoring in Stars’ 9-4 victory at Telford Tigers NIHL and the Teessiders followed up with another excellent result at Blackburn Hawks.
The Stars trailed early on but roared back to win 7-5 and send the Hawks into the relegation zone.
Whitley Warriors romped to an 11-4 success at Deeside Dragons – Shaun Kippin (3) Callum Watson (2) and David Longstaff (2) were amongst the scorers.
Lloyd Gibson grabbed the winner for Sutton Sting as they came from behind to win 3-2 at home to Solihull Barons.
In Laidler D2, Blackburn Eagles kept up their promotion charge despite dropping their first point of the season.
The Eagles were held 2-2 on home ice by Nottingham Lions, but ended the weekend on a high with a 3-1 victory at Widnes Wild.
Mikey Gilbert hit a hat-trick for Altrincham Aces in their 8-0 home win against Coventry Blaze NIHL, while Richard Haggar grabbed the equaliser for Hull Jets as they drew 4-4 with Sheffield Senators.
