Solway Sharks boosted their hopes of reaching the NIHL North Moralee D1 play-offs with an impressive performance at home to Billingham Stars.
Juraj Senko, Joe Coulter, Martin Cingel, and Iain Bowie got the goals in Sharks’ 4-2 victory, which moves them just two points behind fourth place with games in hand on all the teams above them in the table.
Stars’ chances of qualifying for the end-of-season shoot-out in Sheffield were dealt a further blow after they crashed 3-1 at home to Sutton Sting – Slav Movko (2) and Ryan Johnson got the visitors’ goals.
Dean Holland (3) and Callum Watson (2) were amongst the scorers for Whitley Warriors in their comfortable 10-1 home success against Sheffield Senators.
Solihull Barons continued their impressive form on home ice with a hard-fought 7-5 win against Telford Tigers NIHL – David Rogers (2) topped their scoring.
In Laidler D2, Ollie Bayne (2), Joe Greaves (2), Jaroslav Kujec (2), John Murray (2) and Brian Worrall were on target as Altrincham Aces won 9-5 at home to Blackburn Eagles.
Corey Stones hit a hat-trick for Bradford in their 7-4 home success against Hull Jets, but Bulldogs failed to follow up at Nottingham as the Lions eased to a 3-0 victory.
