Dundee Tigers booked their place in the Scottish Cup semi-finals after beating Kirkcaldy Kestrels 7-6 on aggregate over the weekend.

The Tigers secured a 5-3 advantage after Saturday’s first leg on home ice thanks to goals from Richy Fox (2), Calum Henderson, Grant Reekie and Andy Henderson.

Sunday’s all-or-nothing match was a tense affair, but the Tigers progressed despite losing 3-2 on the night – Ross Bree and Paul Guilcher got the goals to secure a last four showdown against Dundee Comets.

North Ayshire Wild won 6-5 at Kilmarnock Storm in the first leg of their quarter-final tie.

SNL leaders Paisley Pirates bounced back from their first defeat of the season last weekend with a comfortable 5-1 victory at Moray Typhoons.

Two goals by Richard Thorp inside the opening ten minutes set the Pirates on their way, although Kevin Russell’s effort late in the first period briefly gave the home side some hope.

The Pirates flew out of the blocks in the middle session as Fraser Campbell fired home within nine seconds of the restart to restore the two-goal lead.

Chris Wilson made it 4-1 in the 29th minute and the Pirates rounded things off midway through the third period as Dean Hamilton grabbed his first goal for the club.
