Paisley Pirates’ boss Ian Turley will enjoy a rare weekend off over Easter, but he is already eyeing what could be an exciting climax to the SNL season for the club.
Pirates are well-placed to reach the play-off semi-finals after last week’s 7-0 victory at Dundee Tigers and with their place in the Scottish Cup Final already assured, Pirates have much to look forward to during April.
“It’s certainly a rarity for us to have a weekend off,” said Turley. “We played very well to beat the Tigers 7-0, which puts us in a very strong position to qualify for the finals weekend in Fife.
“We always treat every match the same way and we’ll be doing no different for the second leg.
“We might not be playing for money every week, but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t prepare as thoroughly as we can, so there will be no change to our usual preparations for the game.
“The boys will enjoy a weekend off but then it’s back to business.
“We’ve got at least one big game to look forward to in the shape of the Scottish Cup final on 16th April, but first things first.
“The Tigers game will be our last at Braehead Arena for this campaign, so we’re hoping to put on a show for our supporters who’ve been great with us all season, and maybe even give them some confidence with regard to subsequent fixtures.”
