Coventry Blaze player-assistant coach Kevin Noble says they can only concentrate on themselves as they prepare for a play-off showdown at Manchester Storm.
A win for Danny Stewart’s side against the Storm will see them into the play-offs, but defeat will mean their game against title chasing Cardiff will give them one more chance.
And Noble says the situation of seeing most clubs go into the final weekend with something to play for makes it fascinating.
“The fact we could have a say in the title race contributes to the uniqueness of this league, whether we could potentially have a say in Cardiff winning the league or us taking the play-off spot,” he said.

“Right now, we can only concentrate on ourselves and what Belfast and Cardiff are doing, we really don’t care. It’s about us putting our best performance together for the weekend.
“It’s a competitive league this year and all the games against Manchester have been close and it’s a fun time of year to play hockey.
“Every team is saying it’s a huge weekend, but the Elite League is an interesting league with the regular season so important to teams.
“You have teams like Cardiff and Belfast looking at it from a championship perspective, while you have teams like us, Manchester and even Dundee fighting for that final play-off spot.
“To state the obvious, it’s a big couple of days for everyone and that includes the teams in the middle who are still playing for placing for the play-offs.”
