Manchester Storm have signed Canadian forward Cody Thompson ahead of the 2019/20 season.

Thompson, 24, joins the club for his first season in the Elite League after four seasons in the USports League.

While playing for the University of Guelph, he scored 104 points in 109 games and won the University Cup.

Head coach Ryan Finnerty said: “Cody is a competitor. He is very strong on the puck and has plenty of ability to score goals. He plays with some grit and isn’t afraid to play on the inside. I am excited to work with him this season and look forward to seeing him develop at pro level.”

Thompson is the latest to sign on for the Storm ahead of the new season, with the club also retaining the likes of Declan Balmer and Dallas Ehrhardt.
