In the Elite League, the Guildford Flames reinforced their lead at the top of the table with a four-point weekend versus the Fife Flyers and Dundee Stars.
Paul Dixon’s side opened the ninth week of the season with an overtime win in Fife, before toppling the Stars on home ice in the second part of their back-to-back.
“It was very close,” Dixon said of his team’s comeback win over the Flyers. “I thought we put a lot of pucks on net tonight and that [Shane] Owen was – once again – very good in net, but so was [Eamon] McAdam for us. He was called upon in important moments and made some big saves to keep it close before our equaliser and then you’re into the overtime period and it’s a 50-50 from there.”
