Fife Flyers have announced the signing of talented forward Kieran Craig.

Craig arrives having spent the last season-and-a-half in the ECHL with the likes of Florida Everblades, Cincinnati Cyclones and, most recently, Tulsa Oilers.

The Ontario native, 23, scored 138 points in 211 career appearances in the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) before commencing his professional career.

Craig’s signing comes days after the club were granted a special dispensation roster request by the Elite League, in relation to the limit cap for non-homegrown players.

Head coach lauds new arrival

Discussing his newest signing, Fife Flyers head coach Tom Coolen said: “Kieran has been an effective forward everywhere he has played.

“Last season he led CIS club Carleton Ravens in scoring, as well as Gatineau Olympics in his QMJHL days.

“We look forward to Kieran contributing to our club.”

The Flyers hope that Craig will be available for this weekend’s games, starting against Belfast Giants on Saturday night.

Flyers provide roster update

Whilst announcing Craig’s arrival, the club have also confirmed that their top point scorer Lucas Chiodo has flown back home to deal with a family bereavement.

Chiodo has scored six times and added 17 further assists, tallying 23 points from his 19 appearances so far this season.

A club statement read: Everyone sends their best wishes to Lucas. Our thoughts are with him and his family during this time.”
