Czech forward Milan Baranyk will contest the 2016/17 season with MK Lightning.
Baranyk spent the last two seasons in the EPL with Peterborough Phantoms, winning the play-off title in 2014/15 and ending last year as their top scoring import with 71 points from 56 league games.
“I’m very excited about playing for the Lightning organisation. “said Baranyk.
“It’ll be my second team here in England and I really think we can reach for a trophy. Coach (Pete) Russell is building a very strong and exciting team. I know a few of the team already so that is a huge plus for me.
“I know we can do a great job for Lightning and hopefully by the end of the season we’ll have lots to be happy about.
“I can’t wait for the new season to make some great memories with my new team and our supporters – and of course have some fun.”
Russell added: “Milan is a player I really liked when we played against him last year. He is offensively talented, has explosive speed, can score, sees the ice really well and has patience on the puck.
“He’s a skilled guy that works hard for the team and plays with a edge – in some areas he gets under opponents’ skin and I like that. We know what we are getting, that’s for sure.
“When I found out Milan was available I spoke to Frankie Bakrlik about him – he was very positive as they are close friends and were linemates when they played in Poland together.
“That’s another plus and I’m looking forward to seeing them on the ice together – they will be very dangerous.
“Milan Baranyk knows this league, has been a play-off champion and knows what it takes. That experience will be invaluable in our dressing room – and we’re delighted to bring him to Milton Keynes.”
