Cardiff Devils have confirmed Canadian-born forward David Brine has signed for the 2016/17 Elite League season.

Brine played for the Florida Panthers in the NHL during the 2007/08 season and also has over 300 AHL games under his belt.

The 31-year-old has a wealth of European experience, having iced in Croatia, Germany, Denmark and Italy. He also currently captains the Croatian national team.

Player/Coach Andre Lord said: “Brine is a two-way centerman who is great on face-offs and very defensively responsible.

“He has been a captain on a number of his teams including the national team. He is an excellent penalty killer and a perfect role player with an offensive upside.”
