Coventry Blaze have confirmed the signing of Great Britain forward Ben Davies.

The 25-year-old, who most recently played for the Norfolk Admirals in the East Coast Hockey League, has previously iced for Cardiff Devils and Braehead Clan in the Elite League.

Blaze boss Danny Stewart said: “This move happened very fast and was something we felt could help us moving forward – Ben has good pace up the middle and the ability to play in different situations.

“He adds to our depth here as the league transitions into four-line hockey, but also has the capability to add to our secondary scoring.

“It was only a couple seasons ago that he scored 17 goals for the Cardiff Devils and he has produced 30-plus points consistently the last several seasons.

“He is responsible at both ends and is another guy we can use on the penalty-kill.”

Blaze chairman Andy Buxton added: “Having such good attendances so early in the season has given us the chance to invest more into the team.

“We want to thank the fans for their support this season so far – you have been incredible.”
