The National League Management Group are pleased to confirm the venues for the end of season Finals Weekends for the Division 2 competitions in North and South.
The Laidler (North) and Wilkinson (South) finals will take place over the weekend of April 4-5, 2020. Each event will feature two semi finals on the Saturday with the Grand Final on the Sunday.
Our Division 2 North (Laidler) Finals return to Planet Ice Widnes for a third successive year. The venue has become synonymous with the event and the staff at PI always go out of their way to make the teams and supporters welcome.
Paul O’Prey, Rink Manager at Widnes, said: “Planet Ice Widnes are delighted to host the NiHL North 2 Finals for the third year in a row and will be looking to provide an excellent event once again for hockey fans and all of the teams that are successful in qualifying to participate.
“We look forward to welcoming everybody in April.”
The NIHL are delighted to bring the Wilkinson Finals for Division 2 South to Alexandra Palace for the first time. Situated inside an iconic Victorian building, this stunning location provides a backdrop like no other. Home of the Haringey Huskies, the venue will be a fantastic host for the finale to the Wilkinson season.
A spokesman for the NIHL said: “It’s fantastic to have all venues confirmed four our Championship Series – five Finals over three successive weekends in April bringing the curtain down on the 19/20 NIHL season.
“For the Division 2 events Widnes is considered by all Laidler teams and fans to be the home of the playoffs in the north and we’re grateful to Paul O’Prey and his staff for once again opening his doors for us.
“The Wilkinson finals in the capital is a fantastic coup. Ally Pally is an iconic multi-purpose venue, and the ice rink looks stunning in that building. Our teams for the Wilkinson Finals will have an amazing weekend for sure.”
Full schedule and ticket information will be released in due course for all five NIHL Championship Series events.

League2 northern should be played at a neutral pad. Funny how the last 2 seasons widnes has one the playoffs. Why not Leeds just thinking out loud
