Dundee Stars 7 Fife Flyers 5

Dundee Stars were involved in another high-scoring affair, but came out on the right side with a 7-5 win over Fife Flyers in the Challenge Cup.

Omar Pacha’s team surged into a four-goal in the opening seven minutes of the first period to give them the best possible start.

Malcolm Gould, Chris Lawrence and two from Jimmy Jensen left Flyers stunned, but they hit back with a single strike from Liam Heelis.

Riley Stadel made it 5-1 early in the middle session, but Peter LeBlanc’s response was instantly cancelled out by Jensen’s second a minute later.

Johan Andersson then made it 7-2 by the second break to make their lead almost untouchable going into the third.

Fife hit back though with LeBlanc, with his second, Carlo Finucci and Chad Smith all finding the net to close the gap to two, it was a night to be happy for Pacha and his team.
