Dundee Stars have re-signed Matt Marquardt and Kris Inglis ahead of the 2019/20 season.
Marquardt will be returning to the club for the second season running after previously spending two seasons in the Elite League with Coventry Blaze and Sheffield Steelers.
The 31-year-old Canadian winger was the Stars’ leading points scorer last season, scoring 29 goals and asssisting a further 24.
Manager Omar Pacha said: “I am excited to get Matt back, I think he is a great leader for the team and he did a lot of good things on the ice and I expect even better this year.
“As a guy, he adds credibility to the team, on and off the ice. He was one of our key guys.
“I think with an organisation like ours, that is growing, it is key to keep a guy like that.
“When you have younger guys or a team with a few rookies, it is good to surround them with leaders, Mags is obviously one of them.”
Inglis re-signs for the Stars having been at the club since the 2016/17 season.
Despite struggling with injuries for the majority of his senior career with the club, Pacha is pleased to re-sign a product of the club’s academy.
He said: “I am delighted to have him back and the fact we were able to keep our three Brits just shows how much this club has grown in the last few years and just shows where this club is heading in the future.
“He has been a standout player because he is a Brit but I want Kris to be a standout player because he is on the team, it is plain and simple.
“I want him to become a top defenceman in this league, I see so much potential in him and if he has the same progression next season as he had from last year to this year, then the sky is going to be the limit for him.”
