Fife Flyers bid to return to winning ways this weekend after losing four games on the bounce.
Flyers host Coventry Blaze on Saturday in the league, before travelling to face Edinburgh Capitals in the Elite Challenge Cup the following day.
Head Coach Todd Dutiaume (above) said: “Losing four in a row is never ideal and the boys are hurting from it.
“That quickly goes away with a win and we are looking to start the weekend with a win against Coventry on Saturday.
“We have a good team here in Fife, but we are just lacking a some confidence just now.”
“Last weekend we were content to see out the game at 2-0 and that allowed Edinburgh to get back in to the game and push for the win. Some maturity is required on our part in order to move forward.
“Danny (Stewart) has put together a very competitive squad in Coventry, but at the end of the day it is just another opponent coming into Fife and we need to win that game.
“They are a very good squad even though they haven’t had the results they would’ve wanted. They find themselves in a very similar position as us, so it will be two teams desperate for the win.”
Last weekend Flyers found themselves 2-0 up against the Capitals with 10 minutes to go in the final period, but ended up losing in overtime.
Dutiaume is looking to rectify the loss and come out of Edinburgh with a win.
“It is vital we get the two points,” he added. “We are at the bottom end of the Challenge Cup group and it’s crucial we get maximum points from our final games in order to have a chance for progressing to the next stage of the competition.”
