Fife Flyers’ boss Todd Dutiaume says his team are finally getting the rewards their hard work deserves.

Flyers followed up Saturday’s 8-1 home victory against Edinburgh Capitals with a 4-3 success at Braehead Clan and Dutaume was in an upbeat mood after securing another four-point weekend.

“It’s a difficult building to win in, we know this, but we stayed level-headed and answered right back to get the 4th goal after they brought it back to 3-3 and saw it out,” he said.

“Danny Stewart’s opening goal really put them on the back heel, and that was important as this Braehead team rely on momentum and they always try and get a good hard start on you, but we did well and it was a different hockey game.

“We’ve now moved ahead of Dundee in the league standings and find ourselves three points behind Belfast.

“Throughout the season we have been playing great hockey and not got the results, but now the puck has been bouncing our way the last couple of weeks and rightfully so.

The guys are working hard and we got two really good performances this weekend.”

Next weekend Flyers take on Coventry Blaze in a home-and-away series and Dutiaume says they will face two tough games.

“This is going to be one of the most difficult weekends of the season as Coventry and ourselves have been finding ways to win games the last few weeks, so it’s going to be a battle.

“We’ll take it a game at a time, but it will be nice to follow with another couple of wins.”
