With a New Year just dawning for the Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL) who are the players to watch?

There have been many standout performers from last year but none more so than Cardiff Devils’ Brodie Reid.

His debut season for the Devils has been successful so far, chipping in with 17 goals and 11 assists in his first 23 games.

As of the time of writing the Welsh side sit 2nd in the table with two wins from two in the New Year.

Reid only has an assist in that time though.

Next up is another newcomer in the EIHL, Belfast Giants’ Scott Conway. The former GB man has 13 goals and 18 assists in 19 outings for the Giants.

His side have seen this impact as 16% of all goals they’ve scored so far have come through him.

They currently sit 3rd with a game on Cardiff.

The first Netminder on this list with a 93.98% save percentage is Sheffield Steelers’ Rok Stojanovic.

Technically it’s the second highest save percentage as Jordan Hedley has a 100% rate; he’s only played 18 minutes though.

Stojanovic also has a win rate of 91% with 11 wins in 12 games played.

Conceding just 23 goals in those 12 games is an impressive feat for the Slovenian.

Cardiff’s Mac Curruth is another very impressive netminder to keep your eyes on.

He leads the pack for shutouts with four and has a goals against average of 2.20.

Only 39 goals conceded in his opening season for the Devils show he’s continued his impressive form from Lausitzer Füsche.

A little bonus pick is Michael McNicholas from Fife Flyers, he currently has 10 goals and 12 assists.

Despite the Flyers being bottom of the table with just six wins from 18 games the American centre has been performing consistently.

He’s scored 25% of his side’s goals this season, an impressive showing for the 27-year-old.
