Cardiff Devils still lead the Elite League by one point from Belfast Giants after both clubs recorded a pair of victories over the weekend.
The Devils triumphed 5-0 at home to Nottingham Panthers and followed up with a 2-1 success at Fife – Sean Bentovogilio and Joey Martin got the goals against the Flyers.
Belfast emerged with four points from their weekend double-header at Sheffield Steelers, winning 5-2 and 5-4 to keep up the pressure at the top of the table.
Mike Hammond scored twice for Braehead in their 5-2 home success against Fife, but the Clan couldn’t add a second victory as they were edged out 6-5 after a shoot-out at Dundee Stars.
Manchester Storm won 4-2 at home to Dundee and they completed a successful weekend with a 6-4 success at Edinburgh – Jack Prince hit a hat-trick against the Capitals.
Coventry Blaze eased to a 4-1 home win against Edinburgh, but Danny Stewart’s team followed up with a dismal 8-3 defeat at Nottingham – Brian McGrattan (2), Robert Farmer (2) and Jeff Dimmen (2) were amongst the Panthers’ scorers.
