Fife Flyers made the perfect start to their Elite Challenge Cup campaign after picking up a pair of wins.

David Turon, Stephen Gunn, Sebastien Thinel, Justin Fox, and Chase Schaber were on target in Flyers 5-2 home victory against Belfast Giants, while Carlo Finucci grabbed the winning goal in 4-3 overtime success at Braehead Clan – Thinel, Ryan Dingle and Shayne Stockton were also on target.

Coventry Blaze defeated holders Nottingham Panthers 3-1 at the Skydome Arena – Bjorn Bombis, Jim Jorgensen and Josh Godfrey got the goals.

Tyler Mosienko (3) led the scoring for Sheffield Steelers in their 6-4 win at home to Manchester Storm.
