Dundee Stars secured their place in the Elite League play-offs courtesy of a 7-5 road victory at Fife Flyers – Justin Faryna (2) and Felix-Antoine Poulin (2) led their scoring.
The Stars were unable to add a second win over the weekend as Fife gained their revenge in the reverse fixture with a 4-2 success.
Manchester Storm became the eighth and final team to confirm their play-off place after picking up a point in their 3-2 shoot-out defeat to home to Nottingham Panthers.
Coventry Blaze saw their hopes of a top eight finish ended as they lost 4-1 at Sheffield Steelers.
That result completed a four point weekend for the Steelers who also won 3-2 at Nottingham.
Cardiff Devils had a mixed weekend on home ice against Belfast. Sean Bentivoglio bagged a hat-trick in their 4-3 victory in the first meeting, but the Giants gained their revenge with a 5-3 success in the second game.
Matt Haywood (3) and Alex Leavitt (3) led the way for Braehead in their 8-5 win at home to Edinburgh Capitals, and the Clan completed their regular season fixtures with a 4-3 shoot-out victory in the reverse fixture.
