Sheffield Steelers secured two victories to close the gap on Elite League leaders Cardiff Devils to five points with four games in hand.
Colton Fretter (2) and Mathieu Roy (2) led the scoring as the Steelers routed Nottingham Panthers 8-1, while Andreas Valdix grabbed the decider in a 5-4 shoot-out win at Dundee Stars.
Belfast Giants are up to third in the league after also picking up four points on home ice.
The Giants won 4-0 against Fife Flyers, while Derrick Walser’s hat-trick was the highlight of their 3-2 victory over Cardiff Devils.
Alex Leavitt scored twice in Braehead’s 5-2 success at Manchester Storm, but the Clan failed to follow up at Coventry Blaze as Jordan Pietrus’ late goal sealed a 3-2 win for the home side.
Mikael Lidhammar bagged the winner for Dundee as they recorded a 3-2 shoot-out victory at Manchester. Fife won 4-2 at home to Edinburgh.
In the Elite Challenge Cup, Nottingham beat Coventry 2-1 at the National Ice Centre, Cardiff triumphed 5-3 at home to Manchester and Belfast won 6-2 at Edinburgh.
