Sheffield Steelers had a mixed weekend as they looked to keep up the pressure on Elite League leaders Cardiff Devils.
Cullen Eddy (above) grabbed the deciding goal as Steelers won 5-4 at home to Nottingham Panthers, but they failed to follow up in Cardiff as the hosts secured an impressive 7-3 victory.
Devils also collected two points against Belfast Giants – Guillaume Doucet’s late empty-netter capping a 5-3 success.
Robert Farmer, Stephen Schultz, Robert Lachowicz and Juraj Kolnik were on target for Panthers in their 4-2 home success against the Giants.
Braehead Clan’s impressive form continued as they sealed a four-point weekend on home ice.
Brendan Brooks (2) topped the scoring in their 6-3 win against Manchester Storm, and he was on the scoresheet again as Clan secured a 3-0 victory over Coventry Blaze – Chris Bruton and Ben Davies got the other goals.
Blaze bounced back with a 4-3 overtime success against Dundee Stars – Mike Quesnele got the winner.
Stars enjoyed better fortunes at Fife Flyers as they sealed a 5-3 win – Justin Faryna weighed in with a couple of goals.
Mathew Sisca (3) and Matt Paton (2) led the scoring for Manchester in their 7-6 win at Edinburgh Capitals, but Storm fell by the same scoreline after a shoot-out at home to Fife – Justin Fox scored the deciding goal.
