Peterborough Phantoms moved to the top of the EPL after a four-point weekend.

James Ferrara’s strike seven minutes from time secured a 3-2 victory at Basingstoke Bison, while Lloyd Gibson (2), Greg Pick and Darius Pliskauskas were all on target in a 4-0 home success against Hull Pirates.

The results leave Peterborough three points ahead of Basingstoke.

Swindon Wildcats picked up two points from their home game against Bracknell Bees, but the visitors gave them an almighty scare along the way.

Bracknell found themselves 8-1 down early in third period, but seven goals in eight crazy minutes saw them draw level.

Neither team could find a winner in the remainder of normal time and after a scoreless extra session Adam Harding’s shoot-out marker spared the home side’s blushes.

Guildford Flames came from behind at Hull to secure a valuable victory.

Tommi Lane put the home side 2-0 up in the first period, but Jez Lundin (2) and Erik Piatak edged Guildford ahead by the end of the second session.

Pasi Salonen tied things up midway through the third, before Jens Eriksson’s strike three minutes from time sealed the points for Guildford.

Joe Miller, Phil Hill, Dale White and Jason Silverthorn were on target for Telford Tigers as they returned to form with a 4-0 win at MK Lightning.

Robin Kovar scored both goals for Manchester Phoenix in their 2-1 win at home to Bracknell.
