Basingstoke Bison are the new leaders of the EPL after an impressive four-point weekend.

Ciaran Long (3) and Tomas Karpov (2) led the way in their 7-0 demolition of Telford Tigers and they followed up with a comfortable 4-1 victory at Manchester Phoenix.

Jonas Hoog’s shoot-out strike condemned MK Lightning to a 2-1 defeat to home to Swindon Wildcats, but they bounced back with a 3-1 success at Hull Pirates – Martti Jarventie (2) and Michael Farn got the goals.

Swindon picked up another two points with a 1-0 win at Peterborough Phantoms – Aaron Nell grabbed the only goal of the game after seven minutes.

Guildford Flames crashed 7-4 at home to Peterborough, but they returned to winning ways at Telford as they cruised to a stylish 7-2 victory – Erik Piatak (above) topped their scoring over the weekend with back-to-back hat-tricks.

Sheffield Steeldogs enjoyed double success against Bracknell Bees, winning 7-3 on home ice and 5-2 on the road.
