Fife Flyers face two difficult games as they bid to build on last weekend’s back-to-back Elite Challenge Cup victories.

Flyers travel to play Belfast Giants in the cup on Saturday, before returning to home ice the following evening to meet Nottingham Panthers in the league.

Two wins against the Giants and Braehead Clan gave Flyers the perfect start to the season, but Assistant Coach Jeff Hutchins is taking nothing for granted.

“Todd (Dutiaume) and I have tried to keep the guys grounded and understand that the results could have easily gone the other way,” said Hutchins.

“We know it is going to be a battle this weekend against two strong teams and that it will take a complete team effort and executing our systems more proficiently to be successful.

“I think Belfast will come out strong similarly to the way we did at home last weekend. We’ll need to be prepared for a battle and limit our mistakes.

“The Panthers are a good team with a lot of depth and I would expect they will be ready and looking to take points against us.

“I’m sure if we work on the areas we’ve addressed this week we will be successful.”
