Great Britain maintained their perfect start to the World Championship (Division 1B) tournament in Belfast with a 5-1 victory over Estonia.

Liam Stewart scored his first international goal, David Clarke and Evan Mosey got on the scoresheet for the second time in the competition, while Mark Garside and David Phillips were also on target.

GB join Japan, who beat Croatia 4-2, and Lithuania, who defeated Netherlands 8-0, at the top of the table on six points.

Head Coach Pete Russell said: “This was a great performance and once again we showed we could get it done in the end.

“We had a sticky spot in the second period, but we came out hard in the third period and got the job done.

“You just have to stay focused in a tournament like this and keep grinding out the results.

“Estonia gave us a tough game but the deeper the game went, I thought we looked the fresher team.

“There’s a long way to go in this tournament, but we have made a very good start.”
