Basingstoke Bison have confirmed their leading British goal scorer Ciaran Long has agreed another season with the club.

Long scored 29 goals and 34 assists last year to help Bison claim the EPL title.

Head Coach Doug Sheppard said: “Ciaran is a one of our core players and he can play anywhere as a forward.

“He is a key member of the powerplay unit and penalty kill, so I’m really pleased he has re-signed.”

Long, who will spend the summer months playing for the Canterbury Red Devils in New Zealand, added: “I really enjoy playing in Basingstoke, so it was a really easy decision to re-sign.

“We know it is going to be tougher this season, as the league is getting better every year.

“I like this as a player and I think we can win trophies again.”
