Blackburn Hawks retained their NIHL North Moralee D1 title after a comfortable 7-0 win at home to Solway Sharks.
Hawks will now set their sights on clinching the treble, with success in the Northern Cup just one win away while they are favourites to add the play-off crown to their haul.
Sharks made sure of their place in the end-of-season shoot-out in Sheffield with a 7-1 win at home to Telford Tigers NIHL – Struan Tonnar (3) topped their scoring.
Dennis Boström scored twice for Billingham Stars in their 4-1 home victory against Whitley Warriors.
Widnes Wild sealed their place in the promotion/relegation play-off game against Sheffield Spartans after a four-point weekend in Laidler D2.
Scott McKenzie scored four in their 7-5 victory at Coventry Blaze and he repeated the feat as Wild ran out 8-3 winners on home ice against Hull Jets.
Despite the defeat for Blaze, the game was noteworthy for their forward Jay McFadyen as he broke the club’s all-time appearance record of 155 previously held by Kieran Papps.
Rob Perks scored twice for Nottingham Lions in their 3-2 win at Blackburn Eagles.
Jaroslav Kucej (4) and Brian Worrall (3) led the scoring for Altrincham in their 11-8 success at Bradford Bulldogs, and Worrall weighed in with another couple as Aces won 8-3 in the reverse fixture.
