Deeside Dragons kept their hopes of avoiding relegation from Moralee D1 alive with a comfortable home victory over Whitley Warriors.
James Parsons (3) led the way as the Dragons recorded an 8-2 success to leave themselves one point behind Telford Tigers NIHL with a game in hand.
Simon Harrison’s late goal secured a 3-2 win for the Tigers at Sutton Sting. That result puts the Tigers two points behind Sting with one game to play.
Blackburn Hawks boosted their play-off hopes with a four-point weekend against the league’s top two teams.
The Hawks won 5-3 at Billingham Stars and followed up with an impressive 6-3 home victory over champions Solway – Jozef Istocy bagged a hat-trick against the Sharks.
The Stars bounced back from the Hawks defeat with a 4-2 win at Solihull Barons – James Moss (2) led their scoring.
Altrincham Aces’ hopes of securing a Laidler D2 play-off spot were boosted with a 4-3 success at Sheffield Senators – John Murray weighed in with a couple of goals.
Stuart Brittle scored twice for Widnes in their 7-5 home win against Hull Jets. Wild have now secured second in the standings and will face the seventh placed team from D1 in a promotion/relegation play-off.
Ondrej Pniok (4) topped the scoring for Nottingham Lions in their 6-5 victory at Bradford. The Bulldogs had better luck on home ice, winning 5-3 against Coventry Blaze NIHL.
