Billingham Stars kicked off their NIHL North Moralee D1 season with an 8-1 win at Deeside Dragons – Chris Sykes (2) and Dennis Bostrom (2) led their scoring.

Solihull Barons started their campaign with a hard fought 6-3 victory at home to Sutton Sting.

In Laidler D2, new Widnes Wild Player/Coach Ollie Barron scored twice in his team’s 8-1 home success against Hull Jets.

Elliott Knell grabbed the deciding goal for Sheffield Senators in their 4-3 victory at Nottingham Lions.

Tomas Mitrik (2) topped the scoring for Blackburn Eagles as they claimed a 6-2 win at Coventry Blaze NIHL.
