Callum Bowley (3) led the way for the Tigers as they recorded a 7-3 success to edge three points clear of bottom-placed Deeside Dragons.
Blackburn Hawks moved into the play-off places with an 8-5 win at home to Solihull Barons – Jozef Istocy (2) and Lewis Baldwin (2) topped their scoring.
That result completed a miserable weekend for the Barons who also lost 4-1 at Solway Sharks – Daniel Abercrombie weighed in with a couple of goals for the home side.
Michael Bowman scored twice for Billingham Stars in their 5-2 victory at Sutton Sting.
Whitley Warriors completed their Northern Cup fixtures with a 6-1 defeat at home to Solway.
Altrincham Aces had a mixed weekend on the road as they look to secure a place in the Laidler D2 play-offs.

Wild had different ideas and roared back to secure a 7-5 success.
