NIHL1 South champions Chelmsford Chieftains showed no signs of taking their foot of the gas after recording two comfortable road victories over the weekend.
Juraj Huska (above) scored five in the Chieftains’ 11-3 success at London Raiders, while Jake Sylvester weighed in with a couple of goals in their 5-2 win at Solent Devils.
Streatham IHC had a mixed weekend in their bid to claim the runners-up spot, winning 5-4 at MK Thunder before falling to a disappointing 5-3 defeat at home to London.
Ben Ealey-Newman grabbed the equaliser for Bracknell Hornets in their 4-4 draw at home to Invicta Dynamos, while Oxford City Stars crashed 4-1 at MK Thunder.
Cardiff Fire secured the D2S (West) regular season title with a 5-2 home win against Swindon Wildcats NIHL – Tim Burrows (2) led their scoring.
Peterborough Islanders picked up four points, winning 6-2 at Invicta Mustangs and 5-4 at home to Chelmsford Warriors.
Haringey Racers lost 4-2 at Chelmsford, Wightlink Buccaneers slipped to a 6-1 defeat at Bristol Pitbulls and Slough Jets fell 5-2 at Lee Valley Lions.
