Nottingham Panthers have signed former NHL defenseman Kevin Quick.

The 27-year-old was a stand-out performer for Dundee Stars in the Elite League in 2014/15, scoring four goals with 23 assists in 60 games.

This season Quick has iced for Indy Fuel and South Carolina Stingrays in the ECHL. He was a third-round pick (78th overall) of the Tampa Bay Lightning in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.

Panthers’ Head Coach Corey Neilson said: “You know what they say about buses, you wait for ages then more than one comes at once.

“Kevin is our second new signing of the day and like Franklin MacDonald he’s a left shot defenseman.

“Both Rick Strachan and myself liked what we saw when Kevin played against us last season. It’s all part of the plan we’ve been working on to strengthen the Panthers’ team for the run-in.

“We’ve had great support from the fans all season long. We want to win for them and for the team. We think these additions increase the chances of that happening.”
