Braehead Clan have signed British forward Craig Peacock on a two-year deal.
The Great Britain international arrives in Glasgow after seven years at Elite League rivals Belfast Giants, where he won two league titles and the EIHL play-offs.
He’s made over 400 appearances and scored over 150 goals during his time in Northern Ireland and is the Clan’s first new signing of the summer.
Head Coach Ryan Finnerty said: “Peaks is a player we’ve had our eye on for a while and I think he has an ability to play in a high offensive role and he’s scored plenty of goals when given that opportunity.
“We’re happy to get his signing done so early so that allows us to focus on the way we want to shape the team going forward.
“It also gives us more depth to fill out the four lines and he can play on any of those. He’s got a good touch and has been good on the powerplay and shootouts, an area that we lacked in last season.
“He was looking for a fresh start after leaving Belfast and we’re delighted to give that to him.”
Clan Hockey and Operations Director Gareth Chalmers commented: “Peacock is certainly a marquee signing for us as an organisation, he totally transforms how we build our teams heading into the future and gives us that additional quality British player.
“Since Ryan and myself have joined the club we’ve had a medium to long term plan for British targets, with the addition of Craig it’s certainly put us towards the position that we want to be in proceeding forward.
“We had Craig over in Glasgow on Tuesday to show him the facilities here at Braehead and the surrounding area and he certainly seems very excited to be joining the Clan.”
