Paisley Pirates’ boss Ian Turley has backed his team to bounce back from the disappointment of losing in the SNL play-off final.
The Pirates face Dundee Comets in the Scottish Cup Final on Saturday hoping to end the season on a high by avenging their loss against the same opponents two weeks ago.
“I’d like to congratulate Adam Walker, his coaching staff and players on their win – I think both teams put on a terrific show in the play-off final and it shows that SNL ice hockey can be both of a high standard and entertaining,” said Turley.
“That was only our second loss of the season and on both occasions it’s been by the odd goal, which shows that we’ve always competed in every game we’ve played.
“I’ve got a fantastic squad of players who’ve already won the league this season, and I’m backing them to up their game again when we go in against the Comets.
“We’ve come a long way with this squad – it’s already been a good year for us by winning the league, so our target now is to make it an exceptional one by retaining the Scottish Cup against a team who will now be regarded as the favourites.
“This is our last shot at glory for this season, and I’ve every confidence that this squad will collectively grab it with both hands.”
