Poulin signing will help Clan make playoff push

Clan, British Ice Hockey

Former Dundee Stars head coach Marc LeFebvre believes new signing Felix-Antoine Poulin can be the man to help Braehead Clan into the play-offs.

The 27-year-old played under LeFebvre, now assistant coach at ECHL side Cincinnati Cyclones, as part of the Stars team that reached the play-off finals weekend.

The Canadian revealed he had enquiries from four clubs asking about him following his release from Slovakian side MsHK Zilina.

“You just need to look at Felix’s points tally last year,” LeFebvre said. “He has tremendous ability from the back end and can run powerplays not to mention a tremendous skater too.

“He’s more a rover style and you would need to join him up with a solid defensive partner because he does like to go forward and create.

“Braehead’s look for an offensive piece, certainly toward the back end and with his ability, I had calls from four teams asking me about him.

“He’ll put up points, help create from the back end and I think Felix will be the player that can help Braehead to the play-offs.

“He was a tremendous part of our success in reaching the final four weekend, beating Braehead to get there of course.

“But Felix isn’t only a good player on the ice, he’s a great human being and great off the ice too. He’ll be a great piece for them.”

Tickets for the visit of the Edinburgh Capitals on Saturday (7:00pm face-off) are available now via braeheadclan.com, by calling 0844 499 1700 or direct at the Braehead Arena box office.
