It’s official: the Fife Flyers have bolstered their roster with the capture of defenceman Seth Bafaro.
The 22-year-old joins the Flyers from Mount Royal University, for whom he notched three points (one goal, two assists) in 14 USports appearances.
Before turning out at the collegiate level, the Canadian was a mainstay in the Western Hockey League with the Vancouver Giants, Saskatoon Blades, and Tri-City Americans. He made 206 major junior appearances, recording 45 points (13 goals, 32 assists) from the blueline.
Bafaro also spent a season in the British Columbia Hockey League, in which he registered 14 points (five goals, nine assists) in 20 games as an alternate captain for the Vernon Vipers.
Although the Flyers have not confirmed when the Kamloops-born defender will debut, he is eligible to feature for Fife versus the Coventry Blaze on Saturday [October 22].
Seth Bafaro will provide ‘much needed depth’ for the Fife Flyers
Despite starting the season as an unsigned free agent, Bafaro is an important acquisition for the Flyers.
Todd Dutiaume’s team have won just once in seven league fixtures and are currently ninth in the standings.
However, they have already punched their ticket to the next round of the Challenge Cup and shown signs of improvement from last season.
With that said, Bafaro’s arrival could help the Flyers to sneak above the playoff line.

“I’m really excited to start my pro career with the Fife Flyers and experience the culture in Fife,” the rookie explained. “I’ve heard really great things about the program and am looking forward to be a part of it.”
Flyers associate coach Jeff Hutchins added: “Seth will provide much needed depth at the backend. He skates well, competes and will be a steady addition to our defensive group.”
After hosting the Blaze on Saturday, the Flyers will travel to Wales to face the Cardiff Devils.
Bafaro will be the centre of attention this weekend.
