Aberdeen Lynx kick-off the defence of their SNL play-off title this weekend with a quarter-final tie against Dundee Tigers.
Lynx host the Tigers on Saturday before visiting Dundee for the reverse fixture tomorrow, knowing their opponents are capable of springing a surprise.
Ross McIntosh topped the scoring with a couple of goals as Lynx won their most recent meeting 3-1 back in February, but the Tigers took a point when they met in Dundee earlier this season.
Lynx boss Barry Carnegie told the Aberdeen Evening Express: “The guys are really looking forward to the weekend’s games.
“It’s been a month without a game and we are keen to finish the season strong and defend our play-off title successfully.
“The Tigers will be well up for the game and we expect a difficult weekend.
“This week hasn’t been the best due to problems with the ice rink. However, we skated last night and the team looked really up for the challenge.”
There is one other fixture this weekend, with Edinburgh Capitals SNL hosting Kirkcaldy Kestrels in the second leg of their last eight tie. The teams drew 5-5 in the first game.
