Paisley Pirates return to action after a five-week absence on Sunday to take on the Dundee Tigers in the SNL.
The unbeaten Pirates head into the game second in the table, two points behind leaders Aberdeen Lynx with two games in hand.
Head Coach Ian Turley said: “We haven’t played a game since drawing 3-3 with Aberdeen Linx on 5th November.
“They’ve still been playing while we’ve been off the ice, so being top will be an interesting experience for them.
“Sometimes it’s easier to be in the chasing pack rather than have the pressure of being top dog, so it’ll give a new dimension to the league title race, with them looking over their shoulder all the time.”
“We’ve got a difficult game to come back to – the Tigers are nobody’s mugs and have also been playing while we haven’t.
“They’ve clocked up some good results this season and will be keen to stop us in our tracks as we try to keep the pressure on at the top of the table.
“We’re hoping our fans will give us plenty of encouragement – it can make all the difference when guys are going out with tired legs towards the end of a tight match.
“Our recent inactivity is a good example of the sort of adversity that we’ll face over the course of a season – issues which we have to overcome to win things, but we’ll certainly be going for it on Sunday night.”
