Paisley boss Ian Turley has targeted play-off and cup success as his Pirates team look to finish the SNL season with a bang.
Pirates travel to Dundee Tigers on Sunday for the first leg of their play-off quarter-final, fresh from their Scottish Cup semi-final success over Aberdeen Lynx last weekend.
The two teams were closely matched during the regular season, with Pirates recording a 2-2 draw in Dundee and 6-5 victory on home ice.
Turley commented: “I’d be surprised if there was much between the teams over the two games, the league results don’t suggest anything else.
“We’re entitled to go into the tie full of confidence, but there’s absolutely no chance of us underestimating the challenge posed by the Tigers.
“They’re a good side, with a lot of good individual talent, and I’m a bit taken aback they finished as low as seventh in the table, as they’re quite capable of beating anyone on their day.
“We’ve got a lot to look forward to between now and the end of the season, with every game a big one.
“That puts responsibility upon every member of the squad to give 100% in training and matches during that period.
“We’ve shown repeatedly that we’ve got the grit and determination to get a result in the most difficult of circumstances, and we need to prepare ourselves properly to ensure the abilities this squad possesses are translated onto the ice.
“Put that talent together with the correct attitude and application, and it’s a very potent combination.
“We’re in a position that virtually every other team in the league would like to be in, now it’s up to us to go out and prove that we deserve to be where we are.”
