Paisley Pirates remained two points behind Kirkcaldy Kestrels with a game in hand on the SNL leaders after beating North Ayrshire Wild 4-2 at Braehead Arena.

Fraser Campbell, Scott Cowan, Stuart Millar and Chris Wilson got the goals for Pirates as they sealed their ninth win in their last ten games.

Kestrels kept hold of top spot after Aaron Robertson’s penalty shot with 90 seconds left secured a 4-3 success at Dundee Comets.

John Gordon opened the scoring for the home side, but Robin Floyd pulled the Kestrels level a few minutes later, ending the first period tied at 1-1.

Liam Cassidy fired the league leaders in front in the second period, but the Comets regained parity through Craig Findlay, before Kris Inglis put them 3-2 ahead.

Cassidy tied things up again, before Robertson held his nerve to keep the Fifers’ title push on track.

Moray Typhoons dealt a crushing blow to Edinburgh Capitals SNL’s title hopes after coming from behind to record a 4-3 home victory.

Fraser Munro (2), Gavin Millar and John Paul Jack were all on target for the Typhoons who are now sixth in the table and sure of their place in the end-of-season play-offs.

Kilmarnock Storm finally picked up their first points of the season after winning 8-5 on home ice against Solway Sharks SNL – Steven Gaughan (2) topped their scoring.
