Deeside’s MVP George Cox in action at Hull

Solway Sharks extended their lead at the top of NIHL North (Moralee Conference) after a three-point weekend.

Struan Tonnar & Iain Bowie both scored twice in a 5-1 win at home to Billingham Stars and Sharks followed up with a 2-2 draw at Whitley Warriors.

Chris Colegate (2) & Simon Offord (2) led the scoring as Sutton Sting secured a 6-4 win at Manchester Minotaurs. Blackburn Hawks moved into fourth with a 5-0 victory against Whitley and a 9-1 success at Billingham.

Laidler Conference leaders Solihull Barons beat Blackburn Eagles 16-2 – Richard Slater (4), Joe Henry (3), Josh Bruce (3) & Connor Hubbuck (3) were amongst the goals. James Parsons scored twice in Deeside Dragons’ 6-3 win at Hull Jets. Coventry Blaze beat Hull 5-3 – Josh Gent & Josh Nicklin both bagged a brace. Nottingham Lions came from behind to beat Sheffield Senators 3-2 – Rob Perks hit the winner.

Wightlink Raiders maintained their lead at the top of NIHL1 South with a 6-3 win at Solent & Gosport Devils. Chelmsford Chieftains cruised to a 12-0 success at home to MK Thunder. Sean Scarborough scored four in Streatham’s 6-6 draw with Invicta Dynamos and the Redskins followed up with a 3-2 win at Bracknell Hornets. Cardiff Devils drew 1-1 with Solent and won 3-2 at MK Thunder. In the South East Trophy Invicta won 5-0 at home to Chelmsford.

Oxford City Stars jumped into second in NIHL2 South with a 6-4 win against Swindon Wildcats. Chelmsford Warriors lost 7-5 at home to Lee Valley Lions, Basingstoke Buffalo drew 3-3 with Bristol Pitbulls and Wightlink Tigers won 3-2 at Haringey Racers.

Basingstoke Bison are the new leaders of the EPL after two wins over their title rivals. Tomas Karpov’s second of the night secured a 4-3 victory at Guildford Flames and the Czech forward bagged another pair in a 5-2 home success against Manchester Phoenix. Bison missed the chance to extend their lead with a 4-0 reverse at Telford. The Tigers also triumphed 8-2 at Slough Jets.

Guildford bounced back with a 2-1 shoot-out win at Sheffield Steeldogs and a 4-0 success at home to Slough. Manchester lost 7-2 at MK Lightning, but Robin Kovar’s hat-trick helped them to a 6-3 home win against Swindon Wildcats. Sheffield’s Lubomir Korhon scored three as Sheffield beat Bracknell 7-3. The defeat completed a miserable week for the Bees who also lost 6-3 at Swindon and 4-2 at home to Peterborough Phantoms.

Belfast Giants still lead the Elite League after collecting five points during the week. Craig Peacock scored twice in their 6-1 at home to Hull Stingrays and he repeated the feat in a 4-3 success against Nottingham Panthers. Kevin Saurette’s late leveller secured a point against Dundee, but Nikita Kashirsky grabbed the overtime winner as the Stars edged home 3-2. Jerry Pollastrone’s strike two minutes from time sealed a 4-3 victory for Stars at home to Braehead Clan.

Nottingham picked up a couple of wins, beating Coventry Blaze 5-3 & Cardiff Devils 9-2. Stefan Meyer scored twice as Sheffield Steelers beat Hull 6-3 and grabbed the winner in a 3-2 success at Braehead. Steelers ended the week with a 4-3 shoot-out defeat at Cardiff. Matty Davies’ overtime strike clinched a 2-1 win for Hull at Coventry and they followed up with a 5-4 victory at home to Fife Flyers.

Tomas Horna hit a hat-trick as Edinburgh won 4-3 at Fife. Capitals picked up another two points with a 3-1 success in the reverse fixture and completed a successful week with a 4-3 overtime win against Coventry.
