The Peterborough Phantoms can reveal four more players for each side of Will Weldon’s testimonial.

Team White

Team White are being captained by James Ferrara as per the previous announcement of captains not too long ago.

Their General Manager, Archie Lambie now has four more players, they are:

  • Jason Buckman
  • Joe Gretton
  • Owen Griffiths
  • Marc Levers

Buckman is the current Head Coach of the Phantoms’ second team and has also been Assistant Coach for the first team.

He is eighth on all time games played for the Phantoms, icing 343 times and scoring 43 goals in those games.

He can play as either a defenceman or a forward and at 42-years-old is a highly experienced player.

Gretton is a rough and ready young D-man who’s renowned for his high energy and aggression.

He’s skated 87 times for the Phantoms having joined them in the 2019-20 season.

Nicknamed ‘the Wolf of Nottingham’ by Weldon his impact will be felt by the opposition.

Griffiths who has four Elite League games for the Cardiff Devils under his belt is another young high energy player.

Scoring 31 times in 113 games for the Phantoms he currently plies his trade for the Guildford Flames.

And finally Levers with a wealth of experience for both the Nottingham Panthers and the Belfast Giants.

The former GB international played for the Phantoms for four seasons scoring 60 goals in 198 games.

Team Blue

Team Blue Captain Jeff Glowa alongside GM Louis King has also announced four more players, they are:

  • Robert Ferrara
  • Lewis Hook
  • Slava Koulikov
  • Ales Padelek

Ferrara is one third of the infamous Ferrara family in Peterborough playing alongside his brother Luke for this game.

Other brother James however is captaining the opposing team, pitching two of the brothers against one.

He retired at the end of the 2019-20 season second in all time appearances (540) to his brother James.

Scoring 15 times for the club and being a loyal servant over his many seasons there.

Hook is another prospect with Elite League experience after moving to current side Belfast Giants.

He iced 97 times for Peterborough but after moving to Milton Keynes Lightning sees himself with the Giants.

He also boasts Team GB experience at the last World Championships making him a valuable asset.

Koulikov oozes Peterborough Phantoms being current Head Coach and co-owner of the club.

He played 66 games before his retirement in the 2014-15 season and has never looked back.

Finally for this list, Padelek is an extremely dangerous player who Team White will have to keep quiet.

At 41-years-old the Czechian is still playing ice hockey returning to the game even after announcing retirement.

He iced 322 times for Peterborough and scored a massive 209 goals with 219 assists.

This puts him 10th for all time appearances, fourth for assists and top for goals.

There is no doubt that Will Weldon’s testimonial will be hotly contested with players like this playing.
